A third variant is the volume cover with large volume. This invention relates to such a volume cover. Here, the volume is so large that the food set that rises from the food basket at different speeds accumulates in the cover until even a small flow has time to lead it away. The food set and the water vapor over the stove have a higher temperature than the ambient air and therefore stay in the hood. Flows as low as 10-20 l / s give an uncapture above 75% and up to 95%. The low flow is energy-saving and allows a low noise level even at the stove.
Covers of the above kind have been in use since the 50's. In older houses, a masonry hood has been used over wood-burning stoves or food preparation hobs with open fireplaces. In this respect, the cover is an old known technique.
In patent no. SE 509856, Casamja has introduced a technical improvement in the form of an oblique grease filter in the cover. The grease filter removes a larger amount of grease and reduces the amount of grease that can be deposited in ducts and fans. The amount of fat in the food set is the reason why you do not direct the exhaust air from the stove via a recycling battery that you can do with other exhaust air from the home. A recycling battery is replaced and the recycling rate decreases rapidly. This cover has long recessed side walls to provide good catchment of the os and a raised front edge to provide sufficient maneuvering space for the user.
Another hood of this type is marketed by LGG lnneklimat under the name Cooker hood Pandora. This cooker hood has a pull-out front piece that runs with a roller coaster over ball bearings at its lower edge. This provides a visually attractive cover that can be hidden when not in use. However, this cover has the disadvantages that the interception of os can be worse than other volume covers on the market and that it can limit visibility and room for maneuver for the user.
Summary An object of the present invention is to provide a volume cover with improved catch of os while maintaining or further improving user-friendliness.
This and other objects are achieved according to the present invention with a volume cover according to the independent claim. Preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
According to the invention, there is provided a volume cover for capturing odors and / or exhaust gases from a preparation site, for example a stove, comprising an opening at each end, a first cover part intended for wall mounting and a second stick part. A first opening is adapted to the size of the preparation site for capturing said os and / or exhaust gases, and a second opening is turned in a substantially opposite direction and is intended to be connected to a ventilation duct. The second cover part is provided with side walls and front piece, which second cover part is movable relative to the first cover part between a retracted position and an extended position. The first opening is defined by the first and second cover parts, where the size of the first opening is adjustable by adjusting the position of the second cover part.
A first aspect of the invention is characterized in that the second housing part is arranged so that said first opening in said extended position has a depth which is at least 595 mm or 600 mm. In other words, the second housing part is movably arranged relative to the first housing part in such a way that the first opening has a depth which is at least 595 mm or 600 mm in the extended position. This can be achieved, for example, by the second housing part being pivotally suspended on the first housing part so that the second housing part makes an upward rotating movement, which can also be described as a pendulum movement, when the second housing part is pulled outwards in the direction of the extended position. Such a suspension can provide a greater maximum opening depth of the first opening for a given depth of the first housing part compared to known suspensions which are based on a linear movement of the second housing part.
The first aspect of the invention is based on the insight that the volume cover should have an opening directed towards the preparation site with a depth which is at least as large as that of the preparation site.
It is understood that the directions used in this text relate to a normally mounted volume cover, i.e. when the cover is mounted on a wall so that the first opening is directed downwards for capturing os and / or exhaust gases from a preparation site, and so that the second opening is directed for connection to a ventilation duct in the vicinity of the roof. It will also be appreciated that the first aperture is considerably larger than the second aperture.
According to a second aspect of the invention, or an embodiment of the first aspect, the front piece of the second cover part is adapted for a carpentry hatch to be attached thereto, and the second cover part is pivotally suspended from the first cover part so that the front piece of the second cover part makes a upward rotating movement with a radius of rotation smaller than the height of the carpentry hatch. Alternatively, this may be described as the second housing member being pivotally suspended from the first housing member so that the front piece of the second housing member makes an upward rotating motion about an axis of rotation when the second housing member is pulled outwardly toward the extended position where the axis of rotation is located. a vertical distance from the upper edge of the carpentry door when the carpentry door is attached to the front piece. The volume cover according to the first or second aspect of the invention may further comprise a carpentry hatch attached to the front piece. The upward rotating movement described above can also be described as a pendulum movement. This is advantageous because it can provide improved visibility and improved room for maneuver for the user.
According to a third aspect of the invention, or an embodiment of the first or second aspect, the second housing part is pivotally suspended on the first housing part so that the second housing part makes an upward rotating movement with a radius of rotation such that the lower edge of said front piece is located at least 50 mm higher in said extended position than in said retracted position. This is advantageous because it can provide improved visibility and improved room for maneuver for the user.
According to a fourth aspect of the invention, or an embodiment of the first, second or third aspect, the volume cover is adapted for mounting next to at least one kitchen cabinet, said second cabinet part being pivotally suspended on said first housing part so that the second housing part makes an upward rotating movement around a rotation shaft when the second cabinet part is pulled outwards in the direction of the extended position, said rotation shaft being located at a vertical distance from an upper edge of said kitchen cabinet when the volume cover is mounted next to a kitchen cabinet with the kitchen cabinet and first cabinet part lower edges arranged substantially on the same height. This is advantageous because it provides improved visibility and improved room for maneuver for the user.
According to a fifth aspect of the invention, or an embodiment of the first, second, third or fourth aspect, the second jaw member is pivotally suspended on said first housing member so that the front piece of the second housing member makes an upward rotating movement with a radius of rotation when the second jaw member is pulled outward. against the extended position. The radius of rotation can be less than or equal to 800 mm, or 700 mm, or 600 mm. Alternatively, the radius of rotation may be less than the height of the other housing part. This is advantageous because it can provide improved visibility and improved room for maneuver for the user.
According to a sixth aspect of the invention, or an embodiment of the first, second, third, fourth or fifth aspect, the volume cover comprises an electrical module which is releasably attached to a top of said first housing part, which electrical module is provided with one or more electrical connections for lighting and / or for one or more electric motors. The electrical module may be provided with at least one tongue element arranged for breaking electrical current to at least one of said electrical connection (s), at least one permanent magnet being attached to said second housing part at a position such that said permanent magnet cooperates with said tongue element. This is advantageous because there is no mechanical connection between the other housing part and the electrical module. Thus, the second housing part can be easily disassembled from the first housing part without any consideration having to be given to the electrical module and its switch.
A tongue element is also insensitive to heat and grease, which makes it a robust solution in this application. Alternatively, the electrical module may be provided with at least one mechanical switch arranged for disconnection of electric current to at least one of said electrical connection (s), said switch being arranged to be actuated by receiving a pressing force from the front of the second housing part or an element fixed to said front piece when the second housing part is moved from said retracted position in the direction of said extended position. Even with this alternative, the second jaw part can be easily disassembled from the first jaw part without having to take into account the electrical module and its switch, since the switch only receives a compressive force, and is not attached in any way to the second housing part.
In one embodiment, the tongue member or pressure switch is positioned relative to the second housing member so that a closing function is obtained when the second housing member is moved from the retracted position past an opening position, which opening position is located between the retracted position and the extended position. In other words, the second housing part does not have to be pulled all the way out to the extended position for the said electrical connection (s) to be energized.
According to a seventh aspect of the invention there is provided a method of mounting a volume cover according to the second aspect of the invention, comprising mounting a carpentry hatch to the front piece of the second cover part, so that the front piece of the second cover part can make an upward rotating movement with a radius of rotation is less than the height of the carpentry hatch. Alternatively, this can be described as the second housing part being able to pivot or rotate about an axis of rotation located at a vertical distance from the upper edge of the carpentry door. The carpentry door can have a greater height than the other part of the cover.
According to an eighth aspect of the invention, there is provided a method of mounting a volume cover according to the fourth aspect of the invention in a kitchen, comprising mounting the volume cover adjacent to at least one kitchen cabinet so that said axis of rotation is located at a vertical distance from an upper edge of said kitchen cabinet.
Brief Description of the Drawings These and other aspects of the present invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, which show presently preferred embodiments of the invention, in which: Fig. 1 shows a side view of an embodiment of a volume cover; Fig. 2 shows a side view of an embodiment of a volume cover, Figs. 3a-e show an electrical module of an embodiment of a volume cover, and Figs. 4a-b show a first cover part of an embodiment of a volume cover.
Detailed description of preferred embodiments Fig. 1 shows a side view of an embodiment of a volume cover according to the invention with a first cover part 9 intended for wall mounting provided with a back piece 9b, side walls 9a (of which only one is visible) and upper part 9c. A second housing part 10 is pivotally suspended on the first housing part so that it is movable according to a pendulum movement between a retracted position and an extended position. In the figure, the second housing part 10 is positioned in the retracted position. The second housing part is provided with substantially triangularly shaped side walls 10a (of which only one is visible) and front piece 10b, on which front piece a carpentry door 11 can be mounted.
The side walls 9a, 10a, the front piece 10b, the upper part 9c and the back piece 9b define the volume which the volume cover encloses, and also define a first opening downwards which is intended to be directed towards the preparation place. The second housing part has a bent edge or profile 16 at the top which is suspended on an upwardly extending flange 17 on the first housing part, which makes the second housing part pivotable. In this embodiment, the carpentry door has a height which is greater than the second housing part, which height difference is defined by 15. This means that the second housing part makes an upward rotating movement with a radius of rotation which is smaller than the height of the carpentry door. In other words, the second housing part is pivotably suspended about an axis of rotation located at a vertical distance from the upper edge of the carpentry door when the carpentry door is attached to the front piece.
Fig. 2 shows a side view of an embodiment of the volume cover in fig. 1. This figure illustrates when the second housing part 10 is in its extended position. The housing parts are arranged so that the opening depth D of the downwardly directed first opening is at least 595 mm, or 600 mm, so that the opening depth corresponds to the size of the preparation site (in this case a stove or hob of standard size). Fig. 2 also illustrates that the second housing part is pivotable about an axis of rotation B which is located at a distance from the upper edge of the carpentry door 11. The lower edge of the other cover part and the carpentry door follow the curve B '. If the second cover part were instead pivotable about an axis of rotation A, which corresponds to the upper edge of the carpentry hatch when the other cover part is in its inserted or closed position, then the lower edge of the second cover part and the carpentry hatch would follow the curve A ”. It is clear that the lower edge of the second housing part and the carpentry door are located higher up when the second housing part is in its extended position when the second housing part pivots around the axis of rotation B than when it pivots around the axis of rotation A. This height difference between the inserted and extended position of the second the lower edge of the jaw part is illustrated by H in the figure.
Fig. 3a shows an electrical module 38 of an embodiment of a volume jaw. The electrical module comprises a mounting plate 33 which is provided but a mains connection 36 which is connected to a junction box 34, which in turn is connected to a transformer 35 and a ground point of the volume cover. The transformer is connected to a lighting luminaire 37, where one pole is connected via a tongue element 18 for breaking the power supply to the lighting luminaire 37. The tongue element is arranged to co-operate with a permanent magnet attached to the other jaw part.
Fig. 3b shows an electrical module with the same components as in fig. 3a, but where the tongue element has been replaced by a pressure switch 20. The pressure switch is of the normal type.
In other embodiments, the transformer and the tongue element or the pressure switch may additionally or alternatively be connected to one or more electric motors for opening and closing dampers or valves, e.g. a valve for forced flow in the volume jaw.
Fig. 3c shows a top view of an embodiment of a volume jaw provided with an electrical module 38. The mounting plate of the electrical module is attached to the upper side of the first jaw part 9.
Fig. 3c also illustrates the second opening 1 of the volume jaw, which second opening is intended to be connected to a ventilation duct. The second jaw part of the volume jaw is preferably pivotable about an axis of rotation which is located at a distance from the upper edge of the carpentry hatch 11, so that the carpentry hatch protrudes above the top of the first jaw part 9 and thus forms an installation space for the electrical module 38 and ventilation connections to the second opening 1.
Fig. 3d shows a detail view from the side of an embodiment of a volume jaw comprising an electrical module provided with a tongue element 18. In this case the tongue element is mounted directly on the top of the first jaw part 9, but can also be mounted on the electric module mounting plate, as shown in fig. 3a. The tongue element 18 cooperates with a permanent magnet 19 which is attached to the second housing part 10. In Fig. 3d, the second housing part 10 is in its retracted position. Then the permanent magnet 19 is located at a short distance from the tongue element 18 so that the tongue element has a breaking function on the electrical connection to the lighting fixture, which is thus extinguished. When the second housing part is pulled outwards in the direction of the extended position, the permanent magnet 19, due to the pivoting suspension 16, 17 of the second housing part, will be moved away from the tongue element and thus provide closing contact in the tongue element when the second housing part is moved past an opening position, which may coincide with the extended position, or be located between the retracted position and the extended position.
Fig. 3e shows a detailed side view of an embodiment of a volume cover comprising an electrical module provided with a pressure switch 20. In this case the pressure switch is mounted directly on the top of the first housing part 9, but can also be mounted on the mounting module of the electrical module, as shown in fig. 3a. The pressure switch cooperates with the carpentry door 11 which is attached to the second housing part 10. In Fig. 3e the second housing part 10 is in its retracted position. Then the carpentry door is located at a distance from the pressure switch so that the pressure switch has a breaking function on the electrical connection to the lighting fixture, which is thus switched off. When the second housing part is pulled outwards in the direction of the extended position, the carpentry door, due to the pivoting suspension 16, 17 of the second housing part, will provide a compressive force on the pressure switch and thus provide closing contact in the pressure switch when the second housing part is moved. past an opening position, which may coincide with the extended position, or be located between the retracted position and the extended position. In another embodiment, the front piece of the second cover part 10 may have a longer extension upwards, wherein the rear side of the front piece of the second cover part 10 instead cooperates with the pressure switch to achieve the function described above.
Fig. 4a shows a top view of a first housing part 9 of an embodiment of a volume housing. The first housing part is formed with vertical projections or flanges 39a-b, which means that a gap 31 is formed behind the first housing part. The column 31 is intended e.g. for drawing electricity to a lighting fixture from, for example, the electricity module described above. Fig. 4b shows a side view of the housing part 9 shown in Fig. 4a. The cover part is provided with mounting brackets 32, which are adapted to mount the volume cover on a wall.
The above description and the accompanying drawings are to be considered as a non-limiting example of the invention, and the scope of protection is defined by the appended claims.
